Amplified Phone
Amplified Phone
PACE’s Amplified Phone program assists Illinois residents with certified hearing loss to get a free, amplified landline telephone and/or cellphone amplifier. These free amplified phones are funded by taxes Illinois residents and businesses pay on their landline and cellphone bills, and the phones are provided through the Illinois Telecommunications Access Corporation (ITAC). The goal of this program is to ensure that nobody is left without the ability to communicate and that everyone has access to the technology needed to ensure their maximum independence.
Each year, PACE assists dozens of residents of East-Central Illinois to be able to more comfortably have phone conversations with friends and family. If you or someone you know is having trouble hearing on the phone, follow the steps below:
- Go to www.itactty.org to get an application packet.
- Return the application and required documents to the address listed on the application.
- Come to PACE to test the best ITAC phone option for you.
