The Florida Avenue Corridor Study is evaluating 1.12 miles of Florida Avenue in the City of Urbana (from Lincoln Avenue to Vine Street) to increase transportation safety and mobility in this high-priority, high-traffic corridor. The project is a partnership of the Champaign-Urbana Urbanized Area Transportation Study (CUUATS), the City of Urbana, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD).
Users of this road corridor and residents of the neighboring areas are encouraged to go to ccrpc.org/florida to learn more about the project and to fill out a quick survey on how they use Florida Avenue, what they like and dislike about the road corridor, and how they would like it to improve in the future.
This is the first of several steps in gathering public feedback and developing different scenarios for how the corridor should develop in the future, so we will make sure to keep in touch with area residents, and we encourage you to check back and reach out with any questions or concerns on the process!
